HELLO, DEAR FRIENDS
DUE TO THE RATHER BIG CONFUSION REGARDING THE NEW GROUP SYSTEM, AND BECAUSE WE RECEIVED A LOT OF MESSAGES ASKING HOW AND WHEN TO SUBMIT - HERE ARE THE ROUGH GUIDELINES:
Please be assured that we welcome your submissions and appreciate your efforts to create and select them, even if we can't post them all!
. Groups have a new submission system. This is still in beta and details will likely change - check the submission rules before you post. For now: look for the button "SUBMIT/CONTRIBUTE art", pick your (own!) deviation and wait patiently for a few days. Do not submit by NOTES, we can't use them because it won't let us submit the sent work other than in the FAVORITES gallery so notes submissions will be ignored.
It will take a few days before your art will appear if accepted. ONLY 6 - 10 DEVIATIONS are admitted every day, to allow submissions due attention and avoid overcrowding members' message centers.
. Only one (1! ) submission per member per week.
. Only group members' submissions are accepted.
. 700 x 690 is not square!
Sometimes dA downsizes your square to 700 x 699, but that is the max we can put up with.
. Please NO Deviantart Watermarks! <-- NEW
Of course it's alright to create and use your own, we understand the risk of online art-theft, but the one made available by dA is much too intrusive for photography.
. Give us your best and avoid cliché and cute!
dA is being flooded by pictures of kittens, dogs, loving couples, rings with a heart-shaped shadow, pining damsels, slit wrists, vampires, flowers with bokeh-bubbles...#SixbySix wants to showcase things that are original and different. Which is hard enough as it is.
. Due to reasons stated above, we can't accept all submissions - if it's refused it doesn't mean it's bad. We may refuse a submission to pick another from your gallery that we think is more suitable for the group.
. By submitting work to the Group you are vouching that it is truly your own according to legal and mature artistic principles.
Pastiche and parody yes, 'fanart' and tracing no.
. Mature / offensive: dA rules apply but we reserve the right to be stricter and interpret borderline cases our way.
In other words: just because it's allowed or ignored elsewhere in dA it doesn't mean it will be welcome in #SixbySix. Also, not every nude is "aesthetic".
Update: Some editing to improve readability.
